 - The Grand Hotel, Taipei, Taiwan

- The Grand Hotel was built by former President Chang Kai Shek as a showplace
and it remains one today. The mountain behind the hotel has exercise areas at
the top and every morning at dawn you can see a steady stream of Chinese people
walking up the rock path to perform group Tai Chi. Many of these people are
elderly and when I started up the mountain I was passing them quite rapidly.
About half way up, they started passing me. When I finally got to the top I
found them exercising. I gained a lot of respect for elderly Chinese people
that day.
