It took a week but the BMW is fixed and I'm back on the road.  I left Deming, New Mexico just after 1pm and headed west.   A short way down I-10 is Lordsburg, NM where I visited with Rebecca Richins at the Lordsburg-Hidalgo County Chamber of Commerce.   There's a lot of history in Lordsburg and I intend to make an extended visit one day soon.  Rebecca told me about two ghost towns near Lordsburg, Shakespeare and Steins.  The ghost town at Shakespeare is closed most of the year and can only be seen by tour.  I intended to visit Steins on my way to Arizona but never saw the exit for it.  I'll have to try again one day.

A short way into Arizona is Benson where I headed south on Highway 80 to Tombstone.  I enjoyed an excellent dinner at Nellie Cashman's Restaurant.  Nellie was an angel of mercy that followed the gold rush towns and ran successful businesses along the way.  No man was ever turned away hungry from one of Nellie's restaurants because he was down on his luck.

Tomorrow, Tombstone!
